We'd like to take the opportunity to welcome you to this reference area of FITSEd.
FITS was initially funded by Becta but with the change of Government in May 2010 there were major cuts in funding for ICT in Education and FITS fell into that category.
As a result we needed to fund the ongoing development and support of FITS at The FITS Foundation. In order to support the on-going development of FITS we needed to introduce a small charge for access to the FITS guidance.
Fast forward to today and FITS has been transferred to Dando Publishing to continue the on-going support and funding.
We have many plans in the pipeline that the new funding support will bring to fruition and provide our members with excellent value for money. We will provide more information on these initiatives as we develop them over the coming weeks.
If you are not currently a member you will find that when you attempt to access member only content you will be asked to login or join. Please take the opportunity of joining us in our vision to improve the quality of technical support in schools and provide a clear career path for technicians through our examinations.
If you signed up in the past and now find that you do not have access, it will be because your membership has expired and access is only being activated for those members who have a current fully paid up membership.
This is the part of website where you will find the detailed FITS guidance relating to each of the processes and to the different types of educational establishments that benefit from operating FITS.
We have tried to make the links easy to follow so that you can access the information you need in the shortest time possible. If you feel that we can make some changes to the site that will improve your user experience, please let us know - we want to hear from you.
Some of the links to the modules open up into several sub-links within them. For example, the Operations Management link includes links to several other processes and so does Change Management. Try clicking on these links to see what sub-processes are included there.
We hope that you find all you are looking for, if you don't just send us a message to let us know how we can help you further.
